Most of the Philippines people address themselves as Filipino which actually derived from Austonesian tribe. This tribe migrated from Taiwan a thousand years ago. Domination of Mexican and Spanish culture during colonial rule left Hispanic immense influence on Filipino culture.

You will find Chinese influence on Filipino culture to a large extent. Chinese noodles termed here as Mami. Dishes like meat also reflect influence of the Chinese culture. Other feature that shows influence of Chinese culture is, you can find various Philippines local using their surnames, and some of them are adept in speaking the language.

Official languages of Philippines include English and Filipino. Frequent use of English language by locals is due to the influence of the American culture. Another influence is increase in the demand of fast food by Filipinos, which in turn give opportunity to various fast food chains to spread their wings in Philippines.

Several religions practiced in Philippines. Majority of people follow Christianity and most of them are Roman Catholics. Other religions include Protestantism, Islam and few local tribal religions.

Barrio Fiesta is the major festival of Filipino culture. In this fiesta, patron saints of all villages and towns honored by the ceremonies held in church. Street parades and various contests after the ceremonies spread a joyous mood all over the country. Singing, dancing and cock fight tournaments followed by grand finale of fireworks give a chance to Filipinos to feel the ecstasy.

Philippines is a land of multiple cultures and ethnicities. You will find different native religious groups with diversified traditions and cultural backgrounds. There are at least fifteen religious groups in Philippines, Tagalogs, Ilokanos, and Bikolanos to name a few. American and Chinese cultures influenced culture of Philippines to a great extent.
